I 1980 durrinng the Ky gun dear season I was hunting near the head waters to the green river on land that Ashland oil co owned , I watched a passenger pigeon on a limb in a old oak tree for about 20 minutes .I wanted to shot it for proof , but my rifle was a.303 british enfield loaded with remington 215gr soft point. I knew what I was seeing because i had seen a stuffed passenger pigeon at Breinheim (sic) Forrest [in bullet co ky ] it was on display for years . Now I only hunt with a camera .
