| This afternoon as I was driving west down 81st Street I was surprised to see a black panther emerge from the brush on the north side of the road and amble along the road heading west. I had just come through a 4 way stop at County Line road and noticed that horses in a field on the south side were at their north fence and seemed unusually alert. The panther emerged probably 50 yards west of the horses. From what I could tell the cat was solid black, muscular, and probably weighed over 70 lbs. It had a long, thick tail. I'd estimate its height at the shoulder to be at least 24". |
