| I was riding my bicycle toward the north entrance of George Bush Park in Houston on April 23, 2009. It was close to dusk. I looked up while traveling about 20mph and saw a long, low cat that was a dark grayish color crossing the pavement. It had a long body and tail and a smallish head. I made a loud noise and the cat looked up at me, paused and then ran into the bushes. The park was flooded at the time which could have driven some animals to the fringes. When I returned home I googled "wild cats of texas" and saw a picture of the jaguarundi. It looked EXACTLY the same. |
