Weird Beetle-wasp in DE

I was in my kitchen doing somthing or other when a large flying insect caught my attention... after deciding to catch and release the bug i catch it. Perplexed by the fact that this bug is unfamiliar to me i snap three pictures of it.( i cant only post one ) it had numerous smaller bugs crawling on its head... it eat one on occasion. Please inform me what this bug is.
