| In fall of 2004 I was riding my ATV looking at floodwater of Patoka River. I saw a large black animal swimming in distances over a flooded cornfield & thought at first it was my black lab (130 pounds)who I just saw before leaving the house. I thought 'how the heck did he get all way out there so fast?' Then I realized it had a cat like head. I grabbed for my binoculars & just as I got them up it disappeared into some trees. I would of just chalked it up too 'strange & unexplained'but two things happened within 6 months. The first was a horse was attacked near Oatsville, Indiana & survived with large claw marks on neck & body with a chunk of flesh gone from neck. This made local papers.(I had a pic of horse but have misplaced it) The other thing happened early in spring. My wife, daughter, grandson & I went ATV riding in same area. Heavily wooded, swamps, very dark area. I was back about 500 feet struggling with my young grandson to sit still & wife & daughter had rode ahead on dirt road. A large black cat (they say 100 pounds at least)crossed road 20 feet in front of them. They said it moved very fast. They got only a glimpse as they were talking & looking back at me. It was so dark in that area they lost it soon as it disappeared into woods at edge of road. So thats my Black Cat sighting as its a rainy day & was surfing the net & wondered if anyone else in Indiana ever saw anything like this & found this site. |
