| the sightings of the thing have been going on for about a year now. i live in a small rural town in south texas. my boyfriend lives on the edge of town in a small neighborhood with a pasture almost directly behind his house. the first time we ever realized the thing existed was one night in early summer of last year. we were on the phone while suddenly we heard a loud screeching noise outside so he went to look out the window just in time to see a black animal the size of a large dog run, hunched over, past the window on two legs and dissappear into the large back yard behind his house connected to the pasture. my boyfriend has seen it many times (several of which i have been on the phone with him and able to hear the thing screeching in the backgraound). i have only been lucky enough to see it once. we decided to have a fire in the small, fenced in portion of his backyard in hopes to coax the thing out of the pasture so i could see it for myself. this was a spur of the moment decision so there was no wa y this could have possibly been a hoax. anyways, after a good couple of hours of watching into the darkness and waiting patiently, my boyfriend suddenly hushed me and pointed to a tree in the far part of the open backyard. there in the shadows we could see the thing crouched behind the tree, sniffing around on the ground. it suddenly looked up at us and stared for probably 10 seconds before standing up and dissappearing behind an old tool shed. within seconds we saw it again as it walked behind an old fishing boat against the edge of the pasture and dissappeared into the darkness of the pasture. a good 15 minutes after it had dissappeared, we decided to go check out the area where we had seen it. armmed with a gun and a baseball bat the two of us searched the area only to find nothing. soon after that, we stopped seeing the thing. we would hear it screeching out in the pasture but it never came around (to our knowledge). then, for the first time in a long time my boyfriend says he saw the thing in the middle of the street that runs beside his house, a few weeks ago. once again i was on the phone with him at the time. and it scared us both. then after talking it over for a while i decided we should ask some of the neighbors about it. we asked a friend of my brother's who lives two houses down from him and he says he and my brother have both seen it in the evening while shooting arrows in the neighbors backyard, right nextdoor to my boyfriend. they said they saw it with it's back to them and shot at it and the the thing screeched and ran off. i know they arent lying because we have never before told them of the creature and they have matching stories, but we asked them seperately and at different times. then we asked a nieghbor who lives two houses behind my boyfriend (this neighbor also happens to be one of out teachers at out highschool). we've never before mentioned the thing around her until a few days ago. she said the thing busted a whole in her fence and tore through her hog wire surrounding the bottom of her yard. she claims to hear the screeching regularly, too. the same day we went into the very back corner of his yard and found holes dug by the thing, feces, and two seperate trails through the tall grass and into the pasture that is much two small and secluded for any human to have made or go through. we have made plans to set up game cams in the back yard and set a live hog trap in attempt to have solid proof of the thing. hopefully we can get something. |
