Mt. lion in Maine ???
posted by Jenn jennjanowi@aol.com on January 20, 2008
Two years ago I was taking a walk in the woods in central Maine about 30 miles south of Moosehead lake.It was february, about 30 degrees and mid day. I happened upon what looked like a "cache" it was a perfectly circle of deer hair leaves and snow raked into a pile. Upon further investigation .I found that it covered a doe. She was partially tucked under a small blow down. The carcass was completely eaten from the throat to the mid back. The bones where completely clean. They appeared to have been licked clean. The second half of the carcass wasn't frozen so I believe it was a fresh kill. The tracks in the snow were round / no nails/cat tracks. I'm wondering if anyone else has seen anything in this area. Please let me know if you have any input/ info. THANK YOU
