Thunderbird Sighting Boulder, Co.
posted by Jenelle windingv1nes@yahoo.com on November 25, 2007
So tonight I just watched that new show on the history channel and never realized that what I saw was something weird, I mean it was weird but I don't know, I shrugged it off.

July 4th 2007, my boyfriend and I were driving from Valmont & 30th Street West, toward Broadway so we could watch the fireworks. We ended up taking Balsam up to NW Boulder, and I was leisurely appreciating the weather, and hoping it was going to rain (no I am not joking, they were saying it was going to thunder after the fireworks).

Just a little background, we go hiking regularly at different elevations, and so I can say we both have a good sense of dimension. Including this note with, we are VERY avid Bird lovers (nerds, nerds, nerds!). I look up, and there is this HUGE rapture bird, dark brown, with bronze sheen on the wing coverts. Only once did it fly down closer to trees, my gosh I cannot even accurately state the wing span, but I have seen plenty of hawks, vultures, parrots, condors, and it was much larger.

If you wish to discuss this sighting, please go to the Sightings talk topic in the forum.
