| i have been sighting these very scary bugs. no one seems to know what they are. i live in southern maine and we don't have a lot of strange bugs. they have bodies like a catipillar only a little flatter and long, skinny and oval. they are hairy. they range in various shades of brown to grey. the have legs like a spider but there are hundreds of legs. the legs are also very thin- so thin they look almost like hair, and they were wider than the body, and close together. they have fangs like a spider and long antennas. its fast. as soon as you realize its there, its gone. i've looked at tons of pictures of centipedes and haven't found it. its something similar but not quite. my mom captured one and took it to someone at the university of new england and they had no idea what it was. i've seen several of these and the biggest i saw was almost 3 inches. its HUGE. i was wondering if anyone knew what this is and if its poisonous. |
