Barmanu is the hominoid witnessed by many in the Hindukush/Pamir regions of Pakistan and Afghanistan, especially Upper valleys and forests of Chitral District, Pakistan. Barmanu is reportedly much closer to the modern human beings with respect to their height, but are massively built and have a horrible body odor. Some believe that it could very well be a living modern day specimen of extinct Neanderthals. It is also believed that Barmanu, Almas, Almasty and Yeren etc, could very will be one and same thing, named as per their respective geographical locations. - entry provided by Kamran H.
