Mahambo

Mahambo is the name given by the tribes of the Congo swamps to a massive creature physically identical to a crocodile, only far bigger.
It is said to attain an average length of 50ft and has been seen to devour entire rafts and canoes (occasionally with the unfortunate occupants).
Very little is known about Mahambo, except by the few swamp occupants, however almost every major expedition that has ventured into the swamps has come back with drawings and descriptions of the massive creature.
Usually accredited to overexaggerated accounts of Nile or other estuarine crocodiles this cryptid seems to have been sighted and described too many times to be a simple journalistic error.
