Goatman |

Around the United States, from Maryland, to Texas and even in the nation's capital, reports have been coming in about a creature known only as Goatman. Unlike most Cryptids, this unusual creature has had it's discription disputed for a while. Some say he is a man with a Goat's head, similar to the image of Satan. Others say he looks more like a Satyar, and some simply a mix of the two. Also, the creature's height reportedly varies, from 6-12 feet. While the creature's physical traits are in dispute, no-one argues over the Goatman's aparently agressive nature. The Goatman or similar creatures have been seen attacking pets, throwing dogs over overpasses and even attacking cars. Most shocking of all, the crimes against automobiles seem to be done with an instrument similar to an Ax. If they really are using axes, then these would be the only known Cryptid Homminids to use tools, much less weapons. Theories abound as to what the Goatman actualy is. The most down to earth explanation is that the Goat-Man is simply a mentaly disturbed individual(s) who commit these odd acts beleiving they are said goatman. Others point to the creature being some sort of neanderthal in clothing or odd man-ape. The most outlandish of these tails tells of a universty professor who was transformed into a mutant goat-man by his own hand and roams the woods with an ax and a chip on his shoulder. The most recent sighting was in 2000, when construction workers reportedly saw a twelve foot "sasquatch-like" creature that was roaming through the suburbs of Washington DC. Hunters in Alabama also have seen the creature, and a rash of pet disaperances in Maryland is blamed on the goatman. - entry provided by Tobald Kisper, dukeblues@rochester.rr.com
