First, check the dates, I posted this before Steve died. Second, I found it last year. So can the Steve jokes.
Second, it is bone, NOT wood. I found it on a beach and cleaned it. The tendons that held the bones together disinigrated, as did the cartilidge seeming part. All that I have left is the backbone and I can say with 200 certainty, it is real bone. Use the bricks as they are normal sized building bricks to judge the size. It is not human. It doesn't appear to be a bird either. I can only assume it is a type of fish. I plan to take the pictures with me when I go to a local marine research facility here in St. Augustine Florida as well as take the actual bones that survived the cleaning process and see what they say. |
