Loveland Frog
Posted by Karl, karlr1157@yahoo.com, on Fri, Feb 17 2006, 1:35am
Thought I'd offer something a bit more obscure. The Loveland Frogs, sighted in Loveland, Ohio in '52 and again in '72 are said to be (small) human-sized amphibian/reptilian-like creatures that stand upright. The '72 sightings were by policeman who later regretted ever seeing the creatures or admitting the sightings. There have been no further sightings, and no evidence of the creature's existance has ever been found.

Comment by: Lyla Bannaquite on Nov 27, 2008
That is sooooo photoshopped. The angles are wrong, and no natural eyeshine looks like that. Also, when i eaqalized the lighting on my computer, you could see the edges where cut, which hid in artificial shadows.I think whoever made this should get a job doing special effects for horror movies. They did a good job.

Comment by: seduisant_sang on Jul 22, 2006
Oh, my, this is ridiculously fake you need to work on it some more if you want it to be realistic, no one would every believe that.

Besides that, let's consider the actual cryptid the artist tried to render It's almost impossible. Yes, there may be one mutant frog such as that shown but that's highly unlikely. It's just like an insect, the biological structure of a frog is unable to support that kind of height. The giant chinese salamanders are another story, they are a seperate type of amphibian.
Anyways, one single specimen cannot be considered a cryptid. It is usually just a mutation, and what cryptozoologists are trying to discover are new creatures as a whole.

"Thought I'd offer something a bit more obscure. "

From this one sentence, you can assume that he means the picture and the story together. And, you know, the fact that its cleary a artistic show of skill. No eyes gleam like that, and the blur on its chest make it even clearer

Comment by: timmygc456 on Feb 27, 2006
thats a really well-done picture. I think that the loveland frog is my favorite cryptid, but I dont take the whole story seriously.

cool, I was right for once!!

Comment by: cryptid_lover on Feb 21, 2006
you can tell that this is a false image!

Comment by: Karl on Feb 21, 2006
Adamski, you're mostly correct, except for the glue and cat parts. I photoshopped the image. I added glowing red eyes, because witnesses claim that's what they saw.

It's a frog's head on a lizard's body all blued and blurred, then placed in a 'woods scene', because I couldn't find a decent 'woods off the road scene'.

Hoax-Catcher, what can I say, you're just way too sharp for me buddy. Of course, if you had read the blurb beneath the image, you would have seen the part that states "...no evidence of the creature's existance has ever been found." Overlooking the fact that I mispelled existence, "no evidence" would include "no genuine photographs". But keep at it, you'll make Sherlock proud someday.

Comment by: Bel Jovag on Feb 20, 2006
Of course it's not real, a five year old boy would know that, for god's sake! Anyone with a bit of common sense can tell it's an artist interpretation, not intended to be taken for the real thing. That was for Hoax-Catcher.

Comment by: Hoax-Catcher on Feb 20, 2006
