i knew about the cobra which is why i thought they would be the best answer but i didn't know that a velvet worm can spit chemicals that far

Also, for the record, I'm not saying the Death Worm is exactly what people say it is. I'm just saying that everything they say it can do is possible.

In my opinion, producing conductive electricity in an aquatic environment is nowhere near the same thing as shooting lightning. Hell, I can generate electricity, too, if I walk across a carpet on a cool, dry morning. And my spit is a corrosive chemical, primarily used to start the digestive process of food digestion. Acidic maybe, but not acid.

We also have to keep in mind that the telephone game may be at work. It could very well be a sort of under ground spitting cobra thats been exaggerated.
