The author's name is Tim Gallagher, and he's a journalist affiliated with Cornell University. It's a very involving travelogue and you get a real taste of what it is like to go on a hardcore search for elusive birds like this one. Be warned: It also paints a very sobering picture of the rapid decline of a signature species and biome at the hands of the reckless human species. Even though the end is on a brighter tone, you are left with a definite feeling that the story isn't fully told, nor is the work done yet. |
