1) That moose is pretty impressive. Doesn't look Photoshopped. The second photo shows light edges on its legs which are probably just morning sun shining through the trees. 7-8' at the hump. Wow.
2) I have a tough time buying the monster shark story. Picture looks really, really fake. Story is pretty incomplete. More pictures please. Scientific analysis of the bite please.
3) I cannot stress enough that children need to be taught to respect living things. If it's a pest, kill it, move on. Mutilating a dead animal and "playing" with it is disturbing, more so amongst children.
4) Beer tastes like urine smells to me. 12' up a cooler rack? 12'? Must have been in the stockroom.
5) Interesting. Was there a burnt corset lying next to it?
6) Of all the videos I've shown of the animal kingdom, kids freak out most about the mondo guano pile in the Planet Earth "Caves" episode and the mantis shrimp whooping an octopus. Amazing little creatures.
7) I wonder if they studied a similar opposite, where the patient was given a medication and only their sour outlook prevented it from working.
8) Someone believed film students capturing something totally improbable on film? Seriously?
9) Other than less than entertaining snide comments, I have nothing interesting to say about this.
10) What a tourist draw. I'd go to a zoo that had a parrot which swore at people. I'd even teach it some new words.
11) They canceled Halloween because they got old. Old codgers. This is their first sign they are now old farts.
12) Dead bodies being experimented on by a mad doctor? Or a series of tunnels fit for gents to sneak off and back from the pub? 1530 is a long time ago. I don't think Oregon was even a state back then. Europe is where the history comes from, as says Eddie. Pretty humbling that a bar in Derby has been around more than twice as long as my country.
13) Birth defects and mutations seem hard to fathom in "simpler" creatures; like there's so much less to mess up.
14) This is my first thought. |

We had an African Grey for years (we couldn't keep him after my wifes stroke because she developed a fear of him), but he was quite a potty-mouth. I guess that's what happens when you raise tape recorder around rambunctuous kids who think things like that are funny LOL. |

Hi Tony and gang!
1) I've never seen a moose that big, but I assume that the thing is pretty old and very smart and has dodged many hunter's bullets.
2) Monster sharks? Sure why not?
3) That's just gross!
4) I've heard of bears drinking beer before, but out of careless people's coolers or cars (etc...).
5) Did they have a women's right movement back then? *shrug* Interesting tho.
6) ewww
7) I'm wondering the same thing Tony.
8) People will hoax anything for attention.
9) Sharks are born with larger livers? Who knew?
10) LOL I've heard so many stories about swearing birds. Funny! The only thing we could get my Mom's lovebird to say was "peek-a-boo" and "Bless you" so this is doubly funny to me.
11) How the heck can you cancel a holiday? Then again I lived in a place that doesn't celebrate haloween.
12) OOOOOOO everyone has to read that one! I won't comment 'til later.
13) I must be weird, I think conjoined anythings are pretty interesting.
14) I LOVE strange cloud formations! Living out here, one is used to keeping an eye on the sky. The weather changes pretty quickly and we have some pretty awesome "skyscapes" as well |

This was taken our last day in Steinbach |

Oh well, Mooses are pretty big, you know. Some can figth a grizzly off...
And while I'm sure there are 20' sharks around, I'm also sure this pic is photoshopped...
Bad idea, throwing dead meat around, but it's just the thing kids do. It should not be an organized event, IMO.
I love beer. Why in heck should bears be different?.
The parrot at the Gordo's bar sweared a storm, he also loved to whistle in answer to my own, and quite ellaborate we got. Did the "Hymm to Joy" as well as meself, which maybe isn't much. He also loved coffe-soaked churros.
There's a whole network of old tunnels under Sevilla, most of them ruined or flooded, some still workable. From the Roman's to modern (coupla centuries is modern around here). That happens on all the old cities, I guess. While digging the subway tunnel they found a Phoenician ship...
If a starfish can regrow an arm, why not an extra one?. The capacity is there.
Clouds are clouds. I once saw a double Sun, complete with halo and all. And a double circular rainbow, while flying thru clouds. No end of optical illusions on clouds.
Hey, Stu, thanks, I enjoyed this very much. |

Um, considering the revolution didn't occur until 1776 and consisted of the 13 original colonies I think you are pretty safe on that supposition of Oregon not yet being a state. |

They don't have shark nets at Stradbroke. However they float rotting carcasses of cows off buoys about 500 meters offshore at intervals, to feed the sharks and so hopefully prevent them from venturing any closer to the coast. This is not 100% effective to say the least. |

The homeless on Stradbroke hide in the dunes and are mostly runaways from the law. Police only comes to the Island around christmas to manage the hordes of violent youths swimming in from Brisbane. |

That is a huge moose!! Either that, or only those little clown cars drive on that road. lol
And the parrot story was my favorite. They tried a little too hard to get the words to rhyme in the heading. =)
And you can tell it is a UK bird. You guys say 'f**k off', but in American, we usually say 'f**k you'. I like your way better. It's straight and to the point. Our way can open up many different problems. Like for example, who exactly are we telling you to f**k? LOL
One of my clients had a bird that said, 'Here, ktty, kitty, kitty.' He lived dangerously. |

I believe thats a real moose since a while ago there was one that big or bigger that was shot by a hunter in a competition in Russia. That was a monster of a moose. I also agree with the shark story since its strange that a shark can take a perfect bite mark like that and dissapear. I always thought sharks mauled and trashed what they are attacking before taking a piece off of it. Everything else is just interesting. |
