They've been going back and forth on that thing for decades. Last time I saw something on it they said it couldn't be real because the cloth the shroud was made out of only dated to the 14th century or something similar to that. I can't remember that exact century, but it was definately made (the cloth) over a thousand years after his death. I believe that was also verified by the pattern of the weave itself.
To be honest I really could care less one way or the other. No matter what the evidence says, the naysayers still won't believe it's real, and the believers will continue to say it's real. Kind of like bigfootry wouldn't you say. LOL
