No, 1 photo will never be conclusive, too easily edited. But 50,000 photos of the same thing from different angles would be really hard to debunk, which I think is what is intended, and if whoever offered the reward has to split it so each person receives as little as $20 each, so-be-it. |

With a Rock Bash Going on the shores of Ness (unless the ole addage music soothes the savage beast proves to soothe Nessie rather than offend her), as fast as she is I doubt 50,000 people could catch the same image at the same time ... too much distraction for the amature photograhers to concentrate on something so persise being that the sighting might only lasts a few seconds to a few minutes.
But any Idea Is a Good Idea. Nora Jones |

Hello Nora, what about this The bookmakers are also offering a number of consolation prizes including £1,000 and a free £250 bet for the best photographic evidence real or staged. I think some will take that offer up,i think there are going be alot of pictures taken.

Loud enough music with enough range could have some effect on underwater life. I've often laughed at hunters who have such poor luck when trying to sneak up on things...I've nearly tripped on deer while whistling classical or Harry Belafonte when hiking:)
Aside from "vibes" livening up aquatic stuff, weather change often does with fish...anybody ever bothered correlating dates of sightings to weather conditions/barometric readings? |

when I was having my sightings of what I thought was Nessie after the first encounter I logged what the water and weather was like. I had more occurances during heavy fog, and flat mirror calm clear sunny days. on choppy water days no occurances and during rain little or no occurances. I also looked in to the phases of the moon but there was no definate pattern.
I wonder how one could go back to see if there was any information on what you suggested... and if so how far back could we go to see if there is enough data to corollate a definate pattern?
interesting idea... I am sure someone has thought of that but I have never seen any data on it.

There should be meteorology archives somewhere on the net, but I'm not sure. I know some data people go by studying global warming is based on records of Catholic priests/monks from hundreds of years ago. Air pressure is likely to have effects particularly on fish with swim bladders (I thought of this when I had weatherfish), but also sudden changes can stimulate courting activity (thunderstorms in spring stimulate mating in fish, amphibians and reptiles). Irregardless, it would be nice to know ahead of time when the best time to look would be. |
