Yikes... first of all the origin of the article throws up a red flag for me... seems like everything I have seen posted on there turns out to be a huge hoax. Secondly, the arms and hands are disproportioned to the rest of the body. Personally, I don't see how the small tail could be functional since the head is so large. The fingers are not webbed which suggests to me that they are not used to paddle through the water. Seems like this creature would have a really hard time staying afloat.

It's an artwork. The Cryptomundo report gives it away: - Several days ago we received an email from artist Corona Smith.

Follow the link to Corona Smith's weblog. It's pretty obvious that (s)he created the beastie.

Clever, though.

It was brought to cryptomundo's (L. Coleman really) attention by an artist which seems just a little bit of a warning that it's not real but I suppose it might be coincidence. I don't really understand how it can be in a museum though. How are they preserving it without making it lose its slimy texture? Is anyone taking DNA samples? I mean here is what everyone is wanting. A body with DNA. The perfect way to prove a new species. Maybe the DNA is not good enough to yield clear results?

In 'The First Fossil Hunters' there's a write-up and photo of a centaur skeleton on display in a museum. Why? To show people what can be done of course.
