Subject: Communication.
From: Sarcastic Skeptic posted Sun, Jun 24 2007, 2:03pm
"It’s highly unlikely that it would be able to communicate with us but maybe it communicates within its social group."

By looking a dog in the eyes and using body language, I can communicate emotion to it. People can communicate with gorillas and chimpanzees with symbols and sign language. I think if there were a bipedal ape, we could probably get some intentions across to it with gestures and facial expressions.

And bananas. Don't forget the bananas.

Good point. I wish wisker used more commas or knew when to end a sentence or paragraph. It takes me too long to read his posts sometimes having to do it all on my own.

I can communicate purely through the use of my right hand travelling at a forward velocity somewhere around the 75 mp/h mark. Useful if I get laryngitis.

Sarky, have you any plans to visit the in-laws this year?

Worked fine thanks, Herb. How it's any better I don't know but at least it didn't wipe out my files, so that's 'fine' enough for me.

I hate it when I agree with you. I feel dirty.

With Wisker or Sarky or me? Why would you feel dirty? Are you above hunkering down round the fire & raking through the ashes with the rest of us? Or do you just have a thing about bananas? Does anything else make you feel dirty? Unpolished furniture? City streets? Darkened cinemas? Touching?

Just a joke Stu. It depends which darkened cinema I'm in and who I'm touching. Unpolished furniture? Nah.

City streets? Some of 'em. As for hunkering around the fire and raking through the ashes... that's why I love this site.

I thought Sarky made an excellent point.

Me too, & I think it'll help Wisker immensely with his sentence construction.

Are your CDs in alphabetical or genre order?

Anything for the attention.

FYI, I'm definitely only one person, with one handle. Didn't you suggest I was two people once before? Has someone been messing with you?

I'll get around to providing more of a complete profile one of these days, so you can rest easy.

You reminded me of a past/old member, & you acted like a dick, in a previous exchange, IMO. No hard feelings, these things even out, in my experience. I, too, occasionally resemble a phallic appendage. Apparently I use cuss words, am demeaning, sarcastic, uneducated & a block bully. I like to think I fill a niche in certain people's pathetic little conceptions. Some people on here have a lot of niches that need filling.

No-one's been messing with me - that would require my agreement that I've been 'messed with' & I've never felt messed with except on one, singular occasion where the member was banned without any request from me. Words have to speak louder than actions because it's an internet forum, & very, very few people would have the necessary words to make me feel messed with, believe you me.

I was just fooling round up there. Get yourself a profile & then I'll know where you're coming from without having to read too many posts. It helps.

Ouch. Just kidding! I think there's someone from my former work on this site, so I'm going to be a little elusive, until I figure it out. Actuallly it will be very cool to know there was a kindred spirit at that place. I'm 90% sure...

your absolutly correct ss. i do as well feel that it would be possible to communicate with a bipedal ape in gestures. when i wrote that i was refering to janice carters claims to have english speaking bigfoot on the carter farm.im sorry i was not more specific. you have made a very good point. i also wonder if it would be self aware like they claim elephants are. im not sure if other apes are.
