Charith's one of my (ssshhh) 'heroes' on site.

We need more like him.

Do you remember NatureChris, & his post on photographing/helping ID an unknown mongoose in Africa? He was blown out of the water by uber-sceptics & never returned.

Now THAT was indescribably stupid.

I agree totally. Poor guy photographed an unknown animal alright, but not a "cryptid" *sigh* sometimes this site sucks.

It's not the site, it's jealousy, pure and simple from some people, and Nature Chris should not have left, but just told them to wipe it and kiss his foot.

Chris is too bothered with doing what he does (out there) to be too arsed with what a few dipsticks think of him on a fringe-interest internet site.

In case you wonder - I saw the photo.

And after comparisons with quite a few related images & witness testimonies, I came to the conclusion that ---------

it's a new species of mongoose.

Go figure why some people stay here & do what they do, Ella.

I second that! Welcome back, don't be such a stranger...

Thanks everyone - been out in the wilderness for a while - all kinds of wildernesses in fact - from the backwaters of Kerala in southern India (filmed some gorgeous elephants there), to the man-made jungle of Hollywood - which was weird to say the least...

Am helping out in a series called Dining with Death at the moment, about people's fixation with eating foods that could potentially kill them... Just did a story about tarantulas deep fried in Cambodia, and cobra wine in Vietnam... Am not really super-keen to continue working on the series though. I know many of these things are traditional, but the subject is not my 'cup of tea' quite literally...
