Hi Kraken, I didnt get the oppurtunity to speak with the wittness. But Linda Godfrey interviewed him in person. You can read her interview at her website The Beast of Bray Road. From what Ive read the gentalman saw the animal via his rearview miror as it moved his truck taking the deer out of the back. This is a man who is very familiar with the local wild life. He said the animal had "shoulders and pointy ears". As much as folks want to say this was a bear the man saw, a bear dosent have prominant shoulders or pointy ears. The time was if I recall after 1:00 am, still dark outside and the distance would have been the length of his pick up truck. Im not sure if I have all of these details 100 %, stop by Lindas site for the report and updates.
I dont have any intention to go back in the snow to investigate further. These animals are often seen in the wee hours of the morning and by chance. I dont think the animal will be back that way for some time. If my theory is true, it's long since moved on. I have another theory about this animal. I had read on line that weasles use pheramones to induce fear into rabbits. Enough to make the rabbit freeze out of fear and easier prey for the weasle. As you know a weasle is smaller then a rabbit and rabbits will fight back. I suspect that this "beast" uses pheramones in a similar way, not nessisarily for attacking, but for getting an opportunity to run away. Or perhaps to scramble the sences of the other animal/ aka human who may have seen it. Much in the same way a weasle use's his to stun a rabbit. Bigfoot may do the same thing. Which would explain why these "unknown" animals are often seen crossing roads via ones car but not found or seen when one goes looking for them in the woods. With Urban Sprawl I suspect we will all be hearing more and more wittness's comming forward to attest that they too have seen these "unknown animals".

Nice report Kim. It's always fun to get out and look, even when we don't find what we're looking for. Please give my best to Ms. Godfrey. I've written her once or twice but I doubt she'll remember me.

Great article. Would love to hear about more sightings and investigations on this creature.
Well the Grizzly has rather prominent shoulders. I guess it depends on what exactly the witness meant by "Shoulders" Grizzly shoulders at a distance
Can't think of a reason for the pointed ears though.
Well humans are a rather recent addition to the mix and their sense of smell isn't very strong. It isn't likely that they have a strong enough sense of smell to detect pheramones.
I suspect you're right about "Urban Sprawl". Humans seem to enjoy lots or "Elbow Room" so it is likely whatever hey are that we will be hearing mor from them in time. |

Hi dr. drake, There was some speculation as to weather this particular beast could have been a "dogman" type animal. but it more matched the Bearwolf creature which is bulkier then the dogman and has been seen in that area before. Are the two animals related? It's possible as they are both bipeds and quadrapeds, have longish snouts, pointy ears and ARE NOT bigfoot or a bear.
Until one is captured, hit by a truck or photographed we really dont know what the animals are.

Shoulders and pointed ears could be a perspective issue. Look at the grizzly below and then imagine it viewed for a few seconds through the rear view window of a truck in pitch darkness. Just a thought. |

Hey Guys, The wittness isnt stupid. He knows what a bear looks like. He said there was no way the animal he saw was a bear. Not to mention there are NO grizzlys in Wisconsin. The bear in your photo has short round hears. The animal the wittness saw had pointed ears. The bear in the photo dosent have human like shoulders, the animal the wittness saw did.
Try to get past it folks, the wittness didnt see a bear. He saw something else.

Thanks for posting that. Here's to show you that Wisconsin is a SMALL state, that bald guy with the glasses is the owner of the fish store right by our house. We didnt know he also worked at that hunting store... One thing that wasnt mentioned is that there arent any black or brown bears in this part of Wisconsin. On the rare occurance where a young male bear is seen, it's been tracked and ends up on the 6 pm news. One most recently was traced from Cedarburg all the way to Wauwatosa, seen in several townships by dozens of people along the way, just min.s from our house. It was found sleeping under a semi truck. It was relocated to a more bear friendly part of Wisconsin. I had the opportunity to speak with Mike Miller, the news reporter in that video. I told him about my Milwaukee sighting of a similar animal back in the 70's. I had hoped he would put it on the news, because in my interview I had asked if any of the other wittnesses were watching, would they please get hold of me to discuss what we had seen. My interview didnt make it on tv...

Yup, there was lots of talk when that fella came to Wisconsin...not nice talk either. I dont know him, but I do know that Linda Godfrey talked with the wittness and the wittness said he NEVER called the creature a Bigfoot. It was the news team that dubed it that...he said it was NOT a bigfoot... No wonder that team didnt find a bigfoot, there wasnt one out there.
Thanks for posting that link! Kim |
