I mean if I found a giant bio-luminescent Lazarus-taxon flying beastie somewhere off PNG the fact that I couldn't immediately put a name to it wouldn't mean I'd forfeited my right to a Nobel Prize surely? And no, I'm not a fan of Columbus either ;-)
