I got Thirst in the mail today and will watch it tonight. I saw Park's Oldboy film and enjoyed it, but wasn't overwhelmed like some of the critics. Thirst sounds a bit less cerebral, but more fun.

Thirst was described to me as "Western Vampire Myth in Asian Cult Cinema". In short it's about a priest who looses his soul. It does run very long (135 min), has a disjointed feel and it's full of tonal shifts, but it is nevertheless breathtakingly beautiful, and if you're into the mood creepy as all can be at times.

It's the kind of movie you have to watch at least 3 or 4 times before making up your mind about as each time you watch it, you'll get different things from it.

I watched it. Once it gets going it's pretty cool, but it takes an awful long time to get going...

It's a love triangle where the woman is a manipulative bitch, one of the men is a vampire trying to keep his moral bearings, and the other man is a momma's boy idiot. The film takes entirely too long to establish those characters. The director is trying to keep the pot simmering until everything boils over and the bloodbath begins. He overdoes it.

I won't spoil the film for you - the above info is pretty obvious and runs on for most of the movie. The last half hour is pretty intense.
