I've also learned that turtles are getting a nasty staph infection that is transmissible to humans. Sad maladies all the way round.

The fungus seems especially harmful in my area,Pacific Giant salamanders,Red-Legged frogs,Pacific Tree frogs,and Hellbenders are all taking a very hard hit:(The strage twist is that a broad-spectrum topical antifungal can cure and prevent this disease.A while back,I organized a "swab-a-frog"group to treat frogs in a small pool near where I live.It seems to have been very effective,the death rate dropped from 5 found dead a month to .2 frogs found dead a month.

That's a wonderful project! From whom did you get the antifungals? Was there a concern that it would "rinse off" right away or did you restrain the treated animals briefly before releasing them?
