I live in NH. A few weeks ago I was outside in the early morning about 6:00 am. there were a few deer in my backyard and I was watching them, and suddenly I large cat came out of the woods towards the deer, and they all ran off out of sight. I didn't get a very good look at the cat but it looked larger than an average bobcat. I'm thinking this might have been a Mountain lion, but I'm not sure.... What sort of larger cats would take on a group of three deer? |

A cougar. It wouldn't be trying to take on all three deer, it would have tried to single out just one. |

I would imagine a cougar. I suspect, based on all the reports, that they are once again in the eastern states, as they used to be. |

And they've made a comeback in Texas, too, as they used to be. |

A comeback? For as long I I lived in Texas, was accepted that they were around. We moved to Texas back in '75. When I was in HS, one was hit by a car near my school, and I saw one in the neighborhood. People saw then all the time, that far back. I wasn't aware that they needed a comeback. Did the numbers decrease sometime in recent decades? |
