I've seen the pictures. They seem to show a deformed coyote. I don't know the exact web adress but i know there was an in depth artice about it on Wikipedia. But the intresting thing is, TWO were shot in the same day, a third sighted. |

Were the two that were shot in the same day in the same area?

They were not the same day.
The Elmendorf beast I thought was "prettier," it was very deceptive in its appearance. IMO it didn't look deformed, it looked more like a species of its own. Some people had suggested that it might be an OOP muntjac deer. But it didn't have hooves, and DNA revealed it to be canine, either a coyote or a coydog. The weird thing about it was the unfused jaw, which I think someone said could have resulted from malnutrition as a pup.
The second thing was much uglier. I don't remember the name of the town that it came form, but the person who claimed it was named Womack. It was an awful thing with a shriveled face and an obviously unnaturally-small lower jaw. It's decomposition was disgusting and it was allegedly dragged out from beneath someone's front porch. The story goes that they saw two of them, shot one of them, and it ran under the porch and died. But when I showed the article to a friend, he said he thinks they were lying about that part, that it had already been dead for a while. I think he's probably right about that. Photographs of this creature are copyrighted S. Womack, as though s/he wants to get credit for this thing, while photos of the Elmendorf creature didn't have anyone's name on them.
On our gallery is this nice picture of a hairless coyote. |

The reason I asked is that coyotes may live in small family groups or packs and if one suffered from mange, it would be quite possible others of the same pack also suffered from it. The pic in the gallery is quite revealing I think when compared to the Elmendorf type critter.

My uncle and cousins live in Tucson. I e-mailed them that pic and they said it was like nothing they'd ever seen.
Anyway, it's not likely the two things were in the same pack--they were shot 350 miles apart. |

350 miles, eh? No, then it's not likely.

Diseased dogs and coyoyes are NOT chupacabras. They are DISEASED DOGS and COYOTES.Why is everyone trying to make something into something its not.Dogs and coyotes are common place animals, not paranormal beings, if i see another dead dog being called a chupacabra I will scream. Next someone will find a dead frog or dead bat and say " its a baby chupacabra carcass " |
