Cool website, pretty good drawings too. What a weird amphibian! I kinda hope your wrong because this thing sounds like a very capible maneater!!

According to the glossary on this site, the Dobhar Chu was described as having fur, suggestive of an otter. South American river otters can reach 6ft, and have killed humans. Of course, the Japanese giant salamander gets to at least 5ft, and the one I saw on t.v. was quite aggressive and had big teeth.

According to a documentary I saw on Discovery, Amazon giant otters have killed humans, I'm guessing natives who were hunting them. |

I read somewhere that a zookeeper in Brazil was killed by several giant otters when he jumped into their pen to rescue a little kid who had climbed in there. Guy didn't die immediately, but bled to death on the way to the hospital (critters savaged his legs).
