We always told this joke in Kansas and Oklahoma:
Why are there those hills alongside the freeway?
To keep elephants off the road.
I've never seen one on the road!
See how well they work?
At least I THOUGHT it was a joke... |

Or had been the truck they were trying to load the elephant onto when it decided to make a break for it.
Can you imagine? "Oops, the good news - we found the elephant. The bad news - we're gonna need a tow truck." |
