I just read his bio on Cryptomundo and all i can say is wow. He led a truly blessed life and was a very gifted man. The crypto world has indeed lost a giant in the field and he will be missed.

87? Would should all be so lucky as to live that long, doing what we loved.

My condolences to his family.

His boats were out again last time I was there, in 08. He was too ill to come down & take part, Dick said, & stayed at base. I think I'd have enjoyed meeting him.

Sad news, and even if people disputed his findings they couldn't dispute that he was one of the legends of Loch Ness research.

To me, he was one of the triumverate of Loch Ness researchers, along with Adrian Shine and of course oor Dick

For myself, and probably many others, the third name would be "Tim Dinsdale".

Sorry to hear about the loss of Robert. My condolences go out to his family and the many friends and researchers who had the pleasure of working with him. A sad day indeed, though he did live a long life. Most of us should be so lucky to live to the age of 87 and doing what we love till the end. Pity absolute proof one way or the other hadn't been achieved while he was with us.

Joe
