I went with a red-brown skin, the coloration according to reports on this "maybe monster". I have actually done a number of new models for the prehistoric scenes line, that fit right in with the bases for those old kits. Here is the sculpt for the Iguanodon(for Primeval Plastics). I had a bunch of those models when I was a kid. Brontosaurus, Smilodon, Batman, Spiderman, and one of my personal favorites, my Addams Family piggy bank. It was "The Hand" that answered the phone. You'd put a coin on the base and the hand would come out and take it while eerie music played. Wish I still had it. Probably worth some bucks now.
