People put all kinds of creature in cages for no more reason than they happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. The idea that wild creatures are property and can be treated as humans please is rampant all over the world. Yesterday I saw a news story of a man driving down a freeway in Russia with a Jaguar hanging his head out the window like a pet dog. Not all animals in cages are held for show.
